FAQ
Who is Coker Automotive Consultants?
We are a full-service training and
consulting firm for retail automotive fixed
operations, variable operations, and OEM's. Our background is in
all departments of retail automotive
dealerships, therefore we have "walked in
the shoes" and can speak the language of
general managers, service managers,
advisors, and even technicians. One of our
main focuses is on increasing profitability
through professional sales training for the
most important salesperson in the
dealership, the Service Advisor.How much
does "Service Advisor Success--One Idea At a
Time" cost?
There are several different investment
options, ranging from monthly terms to
annual purchase. If you decide on monthly
terms, the investment is $188.00 per month,
plus S&H of $9.90. Complete 25 month
libraries may be purchased for $3,890.00
which is a savings of almost $700 over the
monthly price. Volume discounts are
available for dealer groups or multiple
stores.
Why are they so inexpensive?
We understand that dealerships large and
small need ongoing and consistent sales
training for their service advisors. We have
an interest in the success of our clients
and our pricing makes it affordable for all
dealers to implement quality sales training.
What makes "Service Advisor Success--One
Idea At a Time" better than other company's
products?
There are several advantages we believe
we have over other training products and
services.
-
First, we are car guys, born and
raised in the retail automobile
business. We have walked the walk, so to
speak. This is real-world stuff, in
realistic selling situations. One thing
you will notice is that on our role
play, the customer is not a "rollover",
but is a hard sell, just like it can be
on the lane.
-
Second, the problem with most
training is that it comes in bulk--6
cd's, 2 days seminar training, 2 hours
in the IDL room watching a talking head
six states away, overkill. Our memory
retention is less than 25%, so 75% of
your training (and your training
dollars) is wasted when presented in
large doses. Besides, our salespeople
are being re-trained every day by our
customers, and need regularly scheduled
sales training to sell the professional
way, not the "old pro" way. That is why
we strongly encourage weekly sales
meetings utilizing short and
to-the-point sales training. And that is
exactly what "Service Advisor
Success--One Idea At a Time" is--15
minutes of powerful, topical, and
effective selling skills training. Ask
one of the sales managers up front how
often they conduct sales training for
their salespeople, and why.
-
Third, we have your interests at
heart. This is not soft training,
designed by input from focus groups,
with warm and fuzzy concepts. This
training will increase sales and
customer retention. Translation: More
profit.
-
Fourth, most service managers have
the desire to improve their advisor's
performance, but even if they understand
the importance of weekly sales training,
don't have the time or experience to
conduct an effective sales meeting.
That's the beauty of "Service Advisor
Success--One Idea At a Time"--it's a
"sales meeting in-a-box". Everything a
service manager needs to put on a great
sales meeting is included. We even have
a suggested sales meeting format.
-
Fifth, it's the best bang for the
buck. At $188/month, that is less than
the cost of providing doughnuts for your
customers. Think of the return on
investment: one more 30K package, one
more closed RO, and it has paid for
itself.
How did you come up with the
idea for "Service Advisor Success--One
Idea At a Time" ?
We didn't, our clients
did. Or at least got us started
thinking. We are a consulting firm, and
many of our clients were telling us that
they needed more sales training more
frequently. As we couldn't go into a
dealership every month, there had to be
a better way. Now there is.
How many videos do I have to pay for?
However many you want. There is no
contract or long term commitment. You may
cancel at any time by simply writing
"Cancel" on the invoice and mailing it back
to us. Of course, the more you train your
advisors, the more profitable they will be.
What do I get every month?
Every four weeks, you receive one DVD, 1
CD, and review cards for every
advisor. Each DVD has four 15-minute
sessions. Every week, get the advisors
together and watch one session, and then
have them listen to the CD's during the
week. Some clients watch it twice a week!
The first month shipment also includes
success portfolios which are a handy way to
store the review cards and are small enough
to fit in a desk drawer for easy referral.
Who should watch the videos?
Obviously, your service advisors and
service manager. Some clients bring in their
parts counterpersons, bodyshop estimators,
cashiers, porters, and/or shop foreman.
Anybody who has contact with a customer,
especially in selling situations, is a
candidate for sales training.
I don't have time, or the advisors don't
have time to watch the video.
We understand the time demands that
service managers and advisors operate under.
But if you were honest, you could find 30
minutes a week of dead time that could be
put to better use. Be creative. Before you
open one time a week, after close, split
shift at lunch (maybe even buy them lunch),
or ask the advisors when the best time for
them would be. In any event, it is critical
that time be found to improve the selling
and people skills of the most
important salesperson in the
dealership. Point: if you are not moving
forward, you must be going backwards.
